About Cortney

Cortney Fortune, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

I began my studies at Michigan State University (Go Green!) where I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Health Promotion. While completing my Bachelor of Nursing and Masters of Family Nurse Practitioner at Chamberlain University, I found my true calling, which is caring for patients and assisting them with their healthcare decisions.

My healthcare experience encompasses numerous areas and responsibilities, but my my nursing career in the Emergency Room is where I gained a variety of skills, knowledge, and the value of treating all patients with respect and dignity. I enjoyed this fast-paced environment and the challenge of using my critical thinking skills to help treat patients with a variety of conditions and concerns.

Along with my interest in personal health promotion, and journey through my advanced studies, I gained a passion for education. I am especially interested in ensuring patients are well informed. My goal is to inspire and support patients to develop a life-long interest in disease prevention and the attainment of a healthy lifestyle. During my studies and rotation at Beyond Women’s Care is where I found my niche in women’s health. My sincere appreciation and gratitude go to Drs. Goulding, Murthy and Gumbrecht, who mentored me as a student and now have provided me with the opportunity to forward my professional career in women’s health at the Beyond Women’s Care practice.

While I am passionate about healthcare, my favorite role in life is being “Auntie Coco” to my two precious nieces. Family and friends are the heart of everything for me, and I enjoy spending time with my loved ones. I appreciate the days I can be up north or on the water, or when I have extra time to spend in the kitchen trying new recipes.

I am thrilled to become a part of the “family” at Beyond Women’s Care and look forward to growing with this practice!
